I love making things with clay. I love getting my hands dirty. I love the thrill of opening the kiln. I love the people I meet who teach me about clay. I love enabling other people to create things with clay.

I even love it when something I’m really proud of smashes and I have to find the emotional maturity to say to myself “I can make it again but better”.

[I am a ceramic artist living in Melbourne. I come from a graphic design background but fell in love with ceramics at a handbuilding class at Slow Clay in Collingwood in 2018. These days I work from my home studio in Northcote, learn and gather inspiration at SoCA in Brunswick, and offer cute, relaxed handbuilding workshops on Sunday afternoons.

My practice involves buidling large sculptural vessels which sit in a playful spectrum between geometry, geology and anthropomorphism. They are expressive not only through their bold shapes, handles and protrusions, but also through their highly tactile surfaces.

My wheel exploration involves curvy, undulating and sometimes collapsing pieces, collaged together into sculptural vessels – each construction being more unexpectedly beautiful than the sum of its parts.
